Burner(s) Will Not Light:
|
- Valve on propane tank is closed
- Propane tank is empty
- Heater regulator is closed
- Plunger on safety shut-off not depressed
- Air trapped in manifold, hose or propane tank
|
- Open valve on propane tank
- Refill tank
- Turn regulator knob to the high setting
- Be sure that safety shut-off plunger is fully depressed while lighting
- Bleed air in the unit by holding saftey shut-off plunger for 5 seconds max while lighting
|
Burner(s) Light and Turn Red but Will Not Stay Lit:
|
- Defective thermocouple
- The thermocouple is not secure
- Defective safety shut-off valve
|
- Thermocouple needs to be replaced
- Turn gas off, be sure thermocouple is secured in place
- Safety shut-off valve needs to be replaced
|
Blue Flame Only - Will Not Turn Red:
|
- It is a new unit
- Burner screen broken at the top
- The regulator is defective
- Dirt or blockage in openings, air inlets or mixing tubes
- Burner tube loose on valve
|
- This will go away after the unit is heated up, approx 5 -10 minutes
- Burner needs to be replaced
- Regulator needs to be replaced
- turn gas off, clean air inlets and mixing tubes with pipe cleaner
- Be sure wingnut is tightened and secured
|
Heater is Making a High Pitched Sound:
|
- The heater is still warming up
- The gas orifice is dirty
|
- Allow heater to fully warm up, the sound should stop within a couple minutes
- Turn gas off, remove orifice and clean with a small wire
|
Heater Makes A Popping Sound, Roars, Rear Housing of Burner Glows Red - (Back Flash):
|
- Wind entering into back of mixing tube
- Dirt/Debris (Insects) in mixing tube just above safte valve
- Burner screen damaged
- Defective Orifice
|
- Turn gas off, be sure the back of the mixing tube is aimed away from a wind source
- Turn gas off, clean mixing tubes with pipe cleaner and low pressure air.
- Burner needs to be replaced
- Orifice needs to be replaced
